A few years ago Jeanine Moneypenny began making candles and soap as gifts for her family and friends. Always delighted with their gifts, these folks encouraged Jeanine to start a business in bath and body products. In 2001, Moss Hill was formed. It was perfect for Jeanine - not only did she have a business making products she loved, but she could also work from home and be with her young children.
Jeanine and Moss Hill have come a long way! In July of 2009, Moss Hill moved to its new location at Butchertown Market at 1201 Story Avenue in Louisville, Kentucky. And in early 2011 Jeanine's childhood friend, Teri Amsler, was brought on as a business partner. They now sell Moss Hill products in over 25 retail locations throughout the United States.
Even with this growth, Moss Hill is still a family operated business. Jeanine's mother helps with her art shows and running the store, her brother-in-law designed her company logo and labels for all of her products and Jeanine's husband still handles the cutting of some of the soaps. Teri's daughter Emily has become involved by taking a number of the product photographs you see here on the website.
Today Moss Hill offers a variety of pampering products. Whether it's handmade soap, lotion, candles, or Moss Hill signature perfume, Moss Hill has a product that will pamper you.
All of Moss Hill's products are still made in small batches from their very own recipes and every item recieves individual attention throughout each step of the creation process.
Each product also bears the seal of approval of the Kentucky Craft Market program.
